oil in 11 states across the country, as well as 6 operational clean energy plants that use solar, thermal and wind power
to generate energy.
History
The company's origins can be traced back to the first electric company to provide electricity to Houston, Texas. This company played a major role in the development of the city in the 20th century, contributing to both its economy and community at the same time. Reliant has also made contributions to our development as a nation by being the power provider to NASA facilities in Texas that were responsible for the first space walk. They supplied all of the electricity that powered guiding systems, telecommunication devices and other important equipment that assisted in the mission. Without Reliant Energy, an American reaching the moon might not have been possible.
